collective impact initiatives
Our collective impact initiatives unite cross-sector partners to harness the power of sport – increasing physical activity, tackling inequalities, and preventing crime. Across the UK and Southeast Asia, these initiatives connect policy and practice to drive systems change, supporting purpose-led networks to improve outcomes for individuals in, or at risk of entering, the justice system.
Get Well Stay Well
This initiative is focused on improving the Criminal Justice System and helping individuals within it to ‘get well’ and ‘stay well’. We collaborate with a diverse Community of Practice to share insights, secure funding, champion lived experience, and deliver impactful projects.
Together, we gather data and ideas to drive meaningful change, creating better outcomes for individuals and communities.

Levelling the Playing Field
The ‘Levelling the Playing Field’ project reflects our commitment to addressing the over-representation of ethnically diverse children and young people in the Youth Justice System and their under-representation in physical activity and sport. We collaborate with a diverse Community of Practice to share insights, secure funding, champion lived experience and deliver impactful projects.
Building on the findings from a three-year collective impact project, we will continue to gather data and ideas to drive meaningful change, creating better outcomes for children, young people and communities.

Southeast Asia Sport and Youth Crime Prevention Initiative
AoS leads a youth crime prevention initiative in Southeast Asia in collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good and Upshot. Focused on Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines, we invest in local organisations, strengthen the evidence base and foster cross-sector collaboration to drive policy change, attract investment and support sustainable development.

MoJ Youth Justice Sport Fund
AoS played a key role in delivering the Ministry of Justice’s £5million Youth Justice Sport Fund in partnership with StreetGames and the Sport for Development Coalition. The fund was established to utilise sport as a powerful tool to engage at-risk young people, diverting them from crime and antisocial behaviour. Launched in December 2022, the programme allocated £5million across 220 trusted community organisations nationwide. The programme successfully engaged over 7,800 young people, with 82% of them coming from 40% most deprived areas, providing them with structured sports activities and additional personal development opportunities.
