Street Games Crime Prevention & Sport Conference 2016
StreetGames have teamed up with NASDC, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, as well as several Police and Crime Commissioners to bring you the inaugural Crime Prevention and Sport Conference.
This superb location has been chosen because Stoke is the European City of Sport 2016. We hope the conference will become an annual fixture.
The conference is for practitioners who want to discuss the most recent applied research about what works to reduce youth offending and anti-social behaviour through sport and physical activity interventions.
National experts have been invited to speak at the conference including: Lord McNally (Youth Justice Board Chair); Olivier Pinkey (National Business Police Force Lead for Young People) and Dr Carolynne Mason (Loughborough University).
Topics for discussion include:
The ingredients of an effective sports-based community intervention
The DCMS national sports strategy
Pathways away from crime into employment
Working with young people in the youth justice system
