StreetGames Conference and Awards 2020

StreetGames Conference & Awards 2020 | Sport: Right or Privilege?

StreetGames is delighted to announce that tickets for the 2020 StreetGames Conference & Awards are now on sale.

Where you live and grow up determines your access to sport.  It’s true, but is it fair?  Is sport a ‘nice to have’, available to those who have the time, money and inclination?  Or does everyone have a right to sport, whatever their circumstances?

Those are the questions at the heart of this year’s conference.  Don’t miss the debate!

The evidence is stacking up: locally trusted organisations, providing positive activity in their neighbourhoods, are increasingly recognised as the most important players when it comes to tackling inequalities.  Building on what a community already has and what it’s good at (its ‘assets’), coaches, leaders and volunteers are bringing new hope and increasing activity levels in left-behind neighbourhoods.

Day One of this year’s conference sees expert keynote speakers and themed workshops exploring different aspects of place-based working, identifying how collaboration between local people and locally trusted organisations improves the safety, wellbeing and future prospects of disadvantaged young people and communities.  Packed with practical examples, take-home tips and time to network, you won’t want to miss it.

Day Two is devoted to Community Safety.  The Youth Crime Prevention and Sport Conference; brings together expert teams from the youth justice and community sport sectors to share their latest research into sport’s role in tackling youth offending and anti-social behaviour. You will hear about successful strategies, talk to leading figures and pick up a whole host of new ideas to adapt and employ in your work.

StreetGames has secured a number of heavily subsidised places, and can now offer the following discounted rates:

£220 – Two Day Ticket, (25th and 26th March) including the StreetGames National Awards*
£150 – One Day Ticket, (for either 25th or 26th March), including the StreetGames National Awards*

*Please note that you will need to register and pay to secure your discounted place. StreetGames will also not be offering any accommodation packages for the conference. However, the organisation will still be able to advise you of nearby accommodation options (available at the link below). Once the programme of workshops are confirmed, StreetGames will prompt you to select your preferred workshops.
