A Sporting Chance: an independent review of sport in justice
The long-awaited review of sport in youth and adult prisons, authored by Professor Rosie Meek in association with the Alliance of Sport and Clinks, is now available to download and digest.
The report includes a collection of case studies that highlight the positive effects sport-based programmes in custody can have on offenders’ personal development and employability as well as breaking the damaging cycle of reoffending.
The report also makes series of recommendations to the government as to how the positive impacts of sport can be strengthened and extended across the secure estate.
