Community Safety and Sport

In 2015 StreetGames together with the Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire successfully secured funding from the Home Office Innovation Fund to test and explore the most effective ways to maximise the value of appropriately designed sport-based interventions to policing and youth crime reduction initiatives.

The project involved eight community organisa ons in the StreetGames network that piloted doorstep sport initiatives in their local area; comprising: Live Wire/ Warrington Wolves, Gedling Borough Council, Bright Futures – Northumbria, Link4Life – Rochdale, Sporting Futures – Derby, Telford & Wrekin Council, Newport Live and Denbighshire county Council.

The project took place between April 2015 – March 2017.
