Alliance of Sport launches the ‘Get Well Stay Well’ initiative to enhance health and wellbeing in the justice system.

The Alliance of Sport is proud to unveil ‘Get Well Stay Well,’ a pivotal initiative designed to enhance health and wellbeing through increased physical activity for children, young people, and adults who are in, and more likely to enter the justice system in England.

Get Well Stay Well: A network for change

Get Well Stay Well is not just a project – it’s a growing Network inviting organisations and services to unite for a common goal. The network will collaborate with senior government leaders to introduce a National Work Plan and address barriers to participation and health promotion.

“We are proud to announce the launch of the Get Well Stay Well network, following the creation of the 2023 Get Well Stay Well Agreement. This initiative will build a community of passionate, committed individuals working with nine government departments. Our goal is to enhance the health and wellbeing of some of society’s most vulnerable and complex individuals, often facing significant inequalities,” stated James Mapstone, Alliance of Sport CEO.

Benefits of joining the network

Organisations that join the network can look forward to numerous benefits:

  • Join a dynamic network committed to systems change.
  • Engage with network members through various platforms.
  • Utilise a dedicated media platform to highlight effective practice.
  • Gain access to some of the latest evidence, news, and views.
  • Participate in initiatives led by the network’s strategic partners.
  • Attend the Get Well Stay Well summit to share learning and insights.

Making a difference

In today’s world, not everyone has the support and opportunities necessary to live an active and healthy lifestyle. Get Well Stay Well is set to make a difference by:

  • Identifying enablers, barriers and opportunities.
  • Building an active community to foster engagement and collaboration.
  • Providing a holistic voice and approach to influencing policy and decision-makers.
