Your views on the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS)
The Prisoners Education Trust is seeking the views of users of the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) to feed back into HMPPS.
The DPS allows prison governors to directly commission more specialist or short-term education services (including sport and physical activity) to suit their prison population.
An unlimited number of education suppliers can join or leave the DPS at any time, and bid for the different services being requested by governors, in a process designed to be much simpler and more flexible for prison commissioning teams and potential suppliers.
As the DPS system has now been live since September 2018, the Prisoners Education Trust would like to hear about experiences of using the DPS, whether good, bad or anything in-between.
They are collating input over the next three months and will use this to monitor how the DPS is working in practice, and feed this back to HMPPS.
They are asking for experience of using the DPS – if possible, to include any detail on:
- How you have found getting on to the DPS system?
- How you have found responding to call outs for services?
- Any benefits/disadvantages to the system?
