Supporting participants during lockdown
During these very difficult times, we know our Community of Practice is busy finding ways to continue engaging with their beneficiaries who may be missing out on vital support whilst in lockdown.
We know many of you are having to work longer and harder to maintain services, as well as care for loved ones and cope with all the stresses associated with the coronavirus threat.
Looking after your physical and mental wellbeing is absolutely crucial and we welcome Sport England’s new ‘Join The Movement’ campaign (launched Thursday 26 March) which helps keep the public moving and the many fun, creative ways they can #StayInWorkOut
It’s a way for people to come together, be part of a positive movement and connect, even while staying apart. Join in on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
To further help our Community of Practice, the Alliance of Sport has teamed up with BelievePerform, the world’s largest sport psychology platform.
BelievePerform’s suite of 700 infographics, 30+ learning courses, expert articles, videos, podcasts and its online community will greatly help sports coaches and leaders to build their own and their participants’ ‘psychological toolbox’.
Founder Adam Morris told us: “Our focus during this time of coronavirus lockdown is on upskilling delivery staff in developing practical coping skills and learning to tolerate uncertainty.
“For the next few months we’ve reduced our membership for schools, colleges and other organisations from £499 to £99, and we also provide a wealth of content on our platforms for free.”
