NASDC heads to the Big Apple
On Wednesday, representatives from the National Alliance of Sport for the Desistance of Crime will attend a ceremony in New York to discover whether it has won a prestigious Beyond Sport Global Award.
The Alliance has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Partnership or Collaboration’ category for its work in supporting Sport for Development to be a robust, effective and pro-active sector.
The annual Beyond Sport Global Awards celebrate, support, raise awareness and provide funding for ways sport is being used to help make the Global Goals for sustainable development a reality.
Our nomination stems from our work over the last two years convening key stakeholders in the Sport for Development sector to support the delivery of best practice, policy and strategy. The Alliance also provides a platform to share learning, information and celebrate success.
Our members, now totalling almost 250, all use the power of sport to repair broken lives and build a stronger future for young people. Together, we aim to place sport at the heart of the criminal justice system, leading to a safer and more vibrant community for all.
We are enormously proud to have been selected as one of 37 shortlisted organisations from over 300 entries worldwide. On Wednesday, we will find out if we are given the honour of being named as winners.
Please have a look below at our new brochure ‘NASDC – Two Years Strong’, which we will be distributing at the event to explain all about the Alliance, our aims, structure, impact headlines and more.
