Alliance of Sport leads ‘Twitter takeover’

The Alliance of Sport led a Twitter Takeover on Monday night (December 17th) in partnership with the Sport for Development Coalition and ConnectSport, discussing sport’s role in reducing crime.

The discussion saw our Co-Founder and Chair, James Mapstone, respond to questions about the role sport can play in combating offending, the key life skills that sport and physical activity can develop, the challenges of delivering sport in the Secure Estate, specific issues around contact sports, and what the future holds for sport in criminal justice.

James also responded to comments and questions from key figures and practitioners across the Sport for Development sector.

The evening proved to be a highly valuable exercise, offering insights and examples of best practice which demonstrated the sector’s every growing strength and impact.

Many thanks to all who contributed – and a merry Christmas from all at the Alliance of Sport for the Desistance of Crime.
