Comic Relief offering ‘Safe, Secure, Settled Fund’ grants
Comic Relief’s Safe, Secure, Settled Fund will provide grants of between £100,000 and £500,000 to projects using sport to improve the lives of children and young people who are homeless or living in temporary accommodation, supporting them to gain skills to lead safe and positive lives.
Projects should take a creative approach and use sport as a tool for social change in their approach.
Comic Relief’s proposal says: “We believe that projects developed and delivered in partnership with the people they aim to support will be more effective in creating positive social change.
“Projects like this are more likely to respond to the priorities of the people they are trying to reach and be more able to identify appropriate solutions. They may also benefit from greater accountability and legitimacy, and by empowering people to be part of the process, have the potential to build confidence and strengthen community cohesion.”
They want to hear from organisations who can demonstrate a deep understanding of what makes a positive difference for young people in this situation in their local context.
The deadline for applications is midday on 14th June. Find out more about the Safe, Secure, Settled fund here.
