James Mapstone

James is Co-Founder and Chief Executive, responsible for the leadership, management and administration of AoS. James also works closely with government to deliver shared value and consult on programmes that advance the role of sport for crime prevention and criminal justice.

Formerly, James was the Founder and Managing Director of 2nd Chance Group CIC, a social enterprise that has been home to a range of sport based programmes designed to repair broken lives and build stronger futures. It was 2nd Chance that first launched AoS as a project back in 2015.

Over the past 20 years, James has been an influencer and advocate for the power of sport, particularly in the Criminal Justice System.

James is Secretariat for the APPG on Sport and Physical Activity in the Criminal Justice System, a Board Member of the Sport for Development Coalition and an Advisory Group member for the Sports Think Tank.
