Advancing policy and practice is a key focus of the Alliance of Sport.
We work closely with a range of policy makers, operational leaders, community organisations and academia to develop, test, evaluate best practice. We also advocate for the sector and our Community of Practice to consistently raise awareness and make the case for sport in criminal justice.
In February 2019, we launched a bi-monthly Sports Forum which is a strategic partnership made up of government departments, funders and the Sport Councils.
We Co-Chair this meeting alongside HM Prison & Probation Service and the purpose is to ‘create a secure and sustainable future for the role of sport, physical education and physical activity in the criminal justice system and for the desistance from crime.’
