Early Intervention and Prevention Group
The Early Intervention and Prevention Positive Action Group aims to build the evidence base and make the case for sport based early intervention and prevention activities.
The group is Chaired by Hardyal Dhindsa, Derbyshire PCC and driven by StreetGames. It is made up of representatives from the Home Office, PCC and community sport.
The is working towards the following objectives:
- To advance the understanding and use of sport as an effective means to tackle youth generated crime and ASB
- To create guidelines for effective early intervention strategies through best practice assessment
- To create a referral framework model that brings together the youth justice and community sport sectors
- To support and influence smarter investment into youth and sport prevention activities
We will be promoting dates of the meetings in our events section of the website. We will also be sharing a summary of each meeting so you share our progress and be part of our journey.
