Street Football Wales Impact Launch and All-Wales Inclusion Tournament.

On Thursday, September 12th, I had the privilege of representing the Alliance of Sport at the Street Football Wales Impact Launch and All-Wales Inclusion Tournament. Held at the impressive Pure Swansea football facility, the event showcased the incredible work of Street Football Wales in empowering individuals through the beautiful game.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the opportunity to interact with the adult football playing participants. Their stories of overcoming adversity were both humbling and inspiring. It was clear that Street Football Wales had played a vital role in providing them with a sense of belonging, purpose, and community.

The quality of football on display was exceptional, and the guest speakers, including Jamie Grundy, the Managing Director of Street Football Wales, provided valuable insights into the organisation’s mission and impact. The event brought together representatives from various organisations, including the Football Association Wales (FAW), Sport Wales, and housing providers, demonstrating the collaborative spirit and shared commitment to making a positive difference.

A Powerful Experience of Resilience and Sense of Community

The Street Football Wales Inclusion Tournament was a fantastic showcase of talent and sportsmanship. It was inspiring to see players of all backgrounds come together to celebrate the power of football, with a solid sense of belonging and team support, to boot.

Attending this event was a truly rewarding experience. It reinforced the importance of organisations like Street Football Wales in providing opportunities for individuals to develop their skills, build confidence, and create lasting connections. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this impactful event. 

We are looking forward to maintaining connection and support moving forward. We will continue to connect Street Football Wales to the vibrant and game changing network that makes the Alliance of Sport a force for social good.
