Southeast Asia Sport and Youth Crime Prevention (SYCP) Conference
Building Safer and More Resilient Communities Through Sport
- Thursday 27 and Friday 28 November 2025
- Grand Fourwings Convention Hotel, Bangkok
- In collaboration with UNODC
The inaugural Southeast Asia Sport and Youth Crime Prevention (SYCP) Conference follows the launch of the SYCP Initiative, which is a groundbreaking programme initiated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Agence française de développement (AFD) to build safer and more resilient communities across the region through sport. Implementation is being supported by a consortium co-ordinated by the Alliance of Sport in Criminal Justice.
The conference takes place in the lead-up to the 33rd Southeast Asia Games being hosted by Thailand during December, and will convene a diverse set of stakeholders to examine the root causes of offending and highlight the role of sport in preventing youth crime. Participants will also have the opportunity to share knowledge, emerging evidence and effective practice from across Southeast Asia and beyond.
