About us
The Alliance of Sport (AoS) is a charity at the forefront of harnessing the intentional use of sport and physical activity to tackle crime and build safer, healthier and more resilient communities.
Operating across the UK and Southeast Asia, we are trusted by governments, international agencies, organisations, and frontline practitioners to drive collective action, build evidence and strengthen systems.
Our mission
Despite the evidence, crime prevention and criminal justice strategies can still overlook sport and physical activity, often dismissing them as a “nice to have.” That neglect means fewer doors open for vulnerable people, fewer chances to stop offending before it starts, and weaker pathways to rehabilitation.
Our mission is to change that — to make sport and physical activity a must-have in every plan to reduce crime and build safer communities.
Success for us means:
- Safer communities – with fewer people experiencing harm and entering or returning to the justice system.
- Healthier lives – built on belonging, resilience and opportunity.
- More resilient systems – where justice, health, sport, education and communities collaborate.
